Apartment introduction

As promised, I'm finally posting some pictures of my apartment in Mason City.  Tonight's room is...
the living room!  Ignore the empty picture frames - they have pictures in them now, I promise!

Love love love my comfy furniture!  The loveseat was a sophomore year purchase for my dorm room and mom found the chair on sale this summer.  Endtables are a Craigslist find, lamps were a Christmas gift in high school, picture frames are ones I painted that were either on hand or found at Goodwill.

This wall is still missing something but I'll figure it out.  Yes, I do have a teeny tiny tv.  It was tiny in my dorm room and now it looks super tiny in a real room.  A bigger tv is on my 'to buy when I have a paycheck' list.

I needed to bring some color into the room and thought the wall would be a great place to do it.  The white wall and my light chair just were NOT working well together.  Tutorial in the works for making your own version of this art piece, but put simply, its just cardboard rectangles covered with fabric.  That's it.

I found this material at JoAnns and LOVED it completely (I also loved that I had a 50% off coupon to use on it!)  I whipped up 3 pillow cases and added an instant burst of color and cuteness to the room.  I pulled colors out of the fabric to pick fabric for the wall and paint for my picture frames.

I love this bench.  It's so cute AND the seat lifts up for storage inside!  Perfect for dropping things on as I come in the door, tucking my shoes underneath, and adding a bit of character to the room.  Bonus?  This was a Goodwill find.  I believe I paid $5 for it, but it may have been $10 - not positive - but either way it's perfect.

This precious item is the centerpiece on the bottom shelf of my bookcase.  It's a St. Jude cookie jar, decorated with patient artwork!  Could it be any more adorable???

And that's my living room folks!  I'm still on the hunt for a coffee table, but have enjoyed having floor space while unpacking and prepping things for school so the hunt is not very serious.  My couch and chair are comfy and they'd love to have you visit to chat!
